Abstract: In this talk, I will introduce a family of positroids that play a special role in N=4 SYM theory, and the parametric form they take in that context. This parametric form leads to interesting (physical) invariants associated to the positroid, akin to, but distinct from what one would expect if thinking of these objects as varieties in their Plucker coordinates. I will end with an open question of what can be learnt about the geometric or matroidal properties of these objects by thinking of them parametrically. No knowledge of physics is needed for this talk.
