Disability Design Time at the GW Innovation Center

On Wednesdays from 3 – 5 PM, the GW Innovation Center will facilitate a Disability Design Time in Tompkins M06.

It is a place to meet informally and work together on designs to improve accessibility. We welcome people experiencing disability and all those interested in the subject to work together and become designers.

We also invite your engagement to organize events, bring in speakers, and have open discussions. The GW Innovation Center is in Tompkins Hall, room M06. Phoenix Price (Chief Engineer), Erica Wortham, PhD (Interim Director), and I (Victor Krauthamer, PhD) hope to see you there on Wednesdays!

Please contact me (vkrauthamer@gwu.edu) if you have any questions.

  1. Thanks for posting this! We had our first session on Feb. 23 where Dr. Ethan Lust from Mechanical Engineering described how a blind person guided students on a design project for accessibility for eye drop medications. It is a great example of how coming together can help define and fill an unmet need. Dr. Erica Wortham directs the Design Center and has made it a great place for personal interaction and collaboration. If you have questions, please contact me at vkrauthamer@gwu.edu. Our next session with be on March 2 at 3 pm in Tompkins M06.
