How do you find the Elliott School to be different to your position at GW’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development?

One major difference between my position here at the Elliott School and my previous position will be the opportunity to recruit prospective students internationally. I’m thrilled for the chance to represent a top-ranked school of International Affairs in front of a global audience, and meet prospective students from all around the world!

Elliott Insiders love to hear about your pets. Have any? Want one?

I sure do! I have one fat cat named Kiki, who I believe is retribution for any time I misbehaved as a child. I’d love to get another cat or a dog one day, but sadly, Kiki doesn’t play well with other animals (I think she forgets she is one).

Where did you go on your last vacation?

My last vacation took me to Anna Maria Island, Florida. It’s a skinny island on the Gulf Coast where I was just a few steps in either direction to Tampa Bay or the Gulf of Mexico. After a busy admissions cycle, it was lovely to plant myself on a beach for a week.

If you could live anywhere else in the world, where would it be and why?

I’ve got a lot more traveling to do before I can name a specific place, but ultimately, I’d love to live in a warmer climate. I know DC’s winters are mild, but I would much prefer no winter at all!

What book or podcast is currently absorbing you?

I’m a few years late to the game, but I finally got off the library waitlist for Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, and can’t put it down.
