đź”—Proposal Submission Form

Thank you to all who have submitted proposals.

About the Conference

DCSCEP is a graduate student-organized, one-day evaluation conference based in the Washington, DC region. Our goal is to provide graduate and other post-secondary students in the fields of evaluation and policy an opportunity to present original research and network with professionals and faculty in those fields.

Attendance at the conference is open to all graduate students, but student poster and paper presentations are reserved for students currently enrolled at, or recently graduated from (within 1 year), colleges and universities in the greater Washington metropolitan area.

Conference Schedule

Here is a high-level overview of the 2025 DCSCEP program schedule (subject to change):

  • Opening session: A keynote address by Nicole Bowman, PhD
  • Morning sessions: Concurrent presentations of student research
  • Early afternoon session: Moderated panel discussion with Q&A
  • Late afternoon sessions: Concurrent presentations of student research

Presentations

All presenters will have 10-12 minutes to present their original research and a brief period (3-5 minutes) to address questions from conference participants. Times are subject to adjustment based on accepted presentations. The presentation format is flexible, though we recommend presenters prepare 10-15 slides to share ideas, concepts, and results from their research. Students may also use a research poster as the basis for their presentation. Examples of previous presentations are available in this Google Drive folder for consideration.

General Proposal Guidelines

All papers are to be authored and presented by students. Co-authored work is allowed, but the student should have a large/primary role in the project. Presentations can be oriented in evaluation/policy toward:

  • Any domain of practice – education, health, social work, etc.
  • Any discipline – psychology, political science, education, etc.
  • Any methodology – empirical, conceptual, theory, analytical, etc.
  • Any focus – process, methodology, theory, utilization, etc.

Proposal Submission Format

Students will first submit contact information, author details, proposal abstracts and presentation preference in the online form. đź”—Proposal Submission Form
