Nominations For Teachers
Dear Faculty,
Please note the following prior to submitting nominations with the form below:
- Students from both Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 Classes are eligible for nomination.
- Refer to Contestant Eligibility, to ensure your student is eligible.
- Limit nominations to 8 students per participating institution.
- Submit 2021 contestant nominations by February 19, 2021.

Congratulations on your nomination to participate in the GW Annual Chinese Speech Contest! Please proceed with the following application to complete your registration. We look forward to reviewing your application and wish you the best of luck!

Submission Deadline: Monday, March 8, 2021 at 11:59 PM (EDT).

Video Requirements
- Length: 2-4 minutes.
- Introduction: Please begin by stating your Chinese & English names and which school you attend.
- Content: Please introduce yourself and tell us at least one thing that you have found most interesting about learning the Chinese language and culture. (请简单地介绍一下自己然后叙述从你开始学习中文到现在一件有趣或难忘的事.) You should appear in the video rather than just using photos.
- Submission: Post the video to YouTube and copy the link to your application form. Please ensure that the video settings are set to "Public" or "Unlisted" in order to allow the contest committee access to view the videos.
Please note:
You are expected to speak naturally and will be disqualified if you read from a pre-written script and/or if you seek help to edit your draft for memorization.
If any part of your video is selected to air online, we will obtain your consent first before doing so.
