While Black History Month is over GW will still be commemorating some of their outstanding black scholars this month. On March 8th, 2021 GW’s chapter of the Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society will be inducted.
Named for the first African American doctoral recipient in the United States, the Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society recognizes outstanding scholarly achievement and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education and the professoriate. In the spirit of Bouchet’s commitment to these pursuits both within and without the academic realm, inductees into the honor society bearing his name should also exhibit these qualities.
All are welcome to join the stream here and support your fellow students, and if you are interested in self nomination be on the lookout in November when the nomination process begins!
