Why Dogs?
Dogs are amazing social learners. We tend to underestimate their skills because they spend so much time with us. That’s why scientists were shocked to discover that dogs can outperform chimpanzees in certain communicative tasks that we originally thought were unique to humans. For that reason, they are a great model species in which to study social learning.
