I am Zhengtian Xu [CV], an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the George Washington University (GW). My research focuses on mathematical modeling, optimization, and empirical operations management of urban transportation systems. I lead the Sustainable Urban Mobility Lab (The SUM Lab) at GW, aiming to understand, promote, and regulate emerging urban mobility services and vehicle technologies.

My research interests include:

The SUM Lab is currently looking for motivated Ph.D. student(s) starting Spring 2021 [position opening]. Students who hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree from the broad field of science and engineering, with a strong enthusiasm for mathematical modeling and programming, are highly encouraged to apply.
