During the 1998-1999 academic year, Larysa Pashis was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her stay in the USA was supported by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S.Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is administered by the American Council of Teachers of Russian. Her mentor at GW was Professor Stuart Umpleby.Dr. Pashis is associate professor and chair of the Conventional English Department, School of Foreign Languages, Cherkasy State University. She graduated from Kyiv State Institute for Foreign Languages in 1985 with the diploma of a teacher of English and German. She received a Diploma of Honor from the Ministry of Education of Ukraine. Her research is in the areas of educational management and administration, theoretical linguistics, and cross-cultural studies (Ukrainian Studies and American Studies).
