GW In Solidarity Dialogues: Participate and Share

We encourage you to participate in #GWInSolidarity, a series of programs and dialogues grounded in providing the GW Community with space to process, heal, learn, and work towards action against hate and oppression. 

This series is being hosted by the Office for Diversity, Equity & Community Engagement and the Collaborative for Inclusive Excellence. Programs are open to all members of the GW community, so please share with colleagues and students.

WEEK 1:

MONDAY, JUNE 8

  • GW Black Men: Graduate Students- Being Heard- 9-10:30pm

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 10

  • GW Black Men: Faculty & Staff- Being Heard- 4-5pm
  • GW Black Men: Undergraduate Students- Being Heard- 7-8:30pm

THURSDAY, JUNE 11

  • Student Space for Processing- 7-8:30pm

FRIDAY, JUNE 12

  • Staff and Faculty Space for Processing - 12-2pm
  • GW Black Community Space for Healing- 3-5pm (Attendees are asked to commit to the full time)

WEEK 2:

MONDAY, JUNE 15

  • GW Black Women: Community & Conversation- 3-4:30pm

TUESDAY, JUNE 16

  • GW Black Community Space for Healing- 3-5pm (Attendees are invited to come and go throughout the program)
  • GW Black Men: Community & Conversation- 4-5pm

THURSDAY, JUNE 18

  • GW Non-Black People of Color Community Conversation: Role in Anti-Blackness- 2-3:30pm

MONDAY, JUNE 22

  • Student Activism in 2020 at GW and in the Community- 11am-12:30pm

WEDNESDAY, JUNE 24

  • GW Police Department & Relationship to Community- 1-2:30pm

THURSDAY, JUNE 25

  • GW Queer & Trans People of Color Community Conversation- 6-7pm

FRIDAY, JUNE 26

  • A Conversation About the Role of White People in Racial Justice & Anti-Racism- 2-3:30pm

WEEK 3:

TUESDAY, JUNE 30

  • Creating a Career of Justice- 3-4:30pm

WEDNESDAY, JULY 1

  • Unconscious Bias Workshop for Faculty- 10am-12pm

THURSDAY, JULY 2

  • Understanding the History of Race & Policing in the U.S.- 10- 11:30am

All sessions will be hosted via Zoom or WebEX. Access codes and sessions links will be shared 24 hours prior to the session start time.
