Personal Projects

Dave Brain

A friend and I decided to take a small toy cart at goodwill and make some changes. Together, we attached left and right rear motors, a camera, a speaker, an audio driver, and a Raspberry Pi. I did preliminary coding for the Raspberry Pi, but as an Electrical and Computer Engineer he had more experience coding and had to make some tweaks to mine for the car. Then, using our college’s network, we used Linux to operate the car through the network. We named the car Dave Brain.

Revolutionizing Transportation Through Campus.

Once again, this same friend and I found a toy car. However, this car was on a much larger scale, instead of a toy cart it was a child’s ridable sports car found near a dumpster. We decided to fix it up and use it to drive around campus. All that was necessary was screwing in some pieces, attaching the steering rack using assorted scrap metal we found, and fixing the wiring from the battery to the front of the car. Also, we added a button attached to the steering wheel (almost like a nitro button from the Fast and Furious) in parallel with the gas pedal for ease of access, as we are much larger than five-year-old children. This was the final result.
