The Meisel Lab designs and synthesizes new molecular scaffolds that bind to protein surfaces and disrupt protein-protein interactions. We target biomedically important proteins in cancer and infectious disease. Our approach is interdisciplinary—students learn techniques in molecular design, organic synthesis, molecular biology, and biophysics. Our work combines fundamental research in molecular recognition with translational applications in drug discovery. We collaborate with computational chemists, structural biologists, analytical chemists, biomedical researchers, and scientists further afield! Explore more research.
