Last Minute Research Assistantship For Fall 2013

Residential Mobility, Neighborhood Environments and Hypertension: A Longitudinal Study
As an extension of his Robert Wood Johnson Foundation grant-funded research (http://www.rwjf-newconnections.org/grantees/102), Professor Jones requests the assistance of one or two students interested in health to conduct a literature review on a project with two aims: (1) to assess the extent to which residential movement affects changes in lifestyle behaviors, which is related to hypertension and (2) to determine how the difference in the characteristics of the neighborhoods among individuals who move moderates the relationship between mobility and change in lifestyle behaviors. The student will also be expected to attend bi-weekly 30-minute meetings to discuss the progress of the project as well as retrieve the assignment for the following week. While the nature of the research will be collaborative, the student should be highly motivated to continue and finish the project during the Spring semester. For individuals interested in health fields, social science research and/or graduate school, this opportunity will provide mentorship. 6-8 hours per week.
Interested students should contact Prof. Antwan Jones  at antwan@gwu.edu.
