Mount Vernon to Mount Vernon Bike Ride
Saturday, November 3rd, 9:30am – 4:30pm
A great fall tradition, The George Stephens’ Mount Vernon to Mount Vernon Bike Tour, will be taking place once again this year. Riders of all skill levels will depart the Mount Vernon Campus and follow the scenic Mount Vernon Trail for 22 miles to the Mount Vernon Estate in Virginia where they will enjoy lunch and a tour of the estate.
That includes your bike rental, lunch, estate tour, t-shirt and return transportation.

Pretty Pumpkin Painting
And carving! Come to the UHP Foggy Bottom Townhouse on Friday, October 27th to get your Fall on! Drink some sweet apple cider, eat some Halloween oreos, stuff yourself with candy and enjoy all your favorite Halloween movies! While you’re at it, carve a pumpkin that looks like your roommate, take a photo of it, win a prize, revel in your victory, take a nap. That last part should be done on your own time, cause the Halloween fun never stops in the townhouse!
The party is from 2-5 with a strict BYOP or BYO$5 policy to buy one of our pumpkins. Or you can just come and critique your peers, Simon Cowell style. Definitely bring any carving tools if you have them because our kits aren’t made for these mighty DC pumpkin breeds. We can’t wait to see you there!

Study in the UHP
Now through the rest of the semester, stop by the UHP townhouse in Foggy Bottom to find a place to study! Come alone or bring your charming and hilarious study group and we’ll open up the doors to the Club Room for studying for the following days and times.
- Mondays 1pm-3pm
- Tuesdays 4pm-6pm*
- Wednesdays 1pm-3pm
- Thursdays 10am-1pm
- Fridays – 10am-3pm
Remember, bring your own mugs and enjoy our hot chocolate and coffee!

Meet UHP Alums from Teach for America and AmeriCorps
Thinking about service after graduation? Like Americorps, Peace Corps, Teach For America, DC/NYC Teaching Fellows, etc.
Join Victoria Roman and Paula Katrina Drago, UHP alumnae, at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 24 in the UHP Townhouse to discuss Teach for America, Americorp, and the joy/struggles of post-graduate service.

Pumpkin Carving!
As the great Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “If you won’t carve the pumpkins, who will?” The UHP is sad and lonely without Halloween decorations, spooky movies and beautifully crafted pumpkin art, but not for long! On Friday, October 26th, bring $5 or your own pumpkin to the Foggy Bottom Townhouse and carve it up. We’ll provide some carving kits, but they are notoriously unreliable, so if you have your own kit, bring em!
What’s one thing that isn’t unreliable? The delicious coffee, hot chocolate, apple cider and tasty, spoooky treats we’ll provide!

There are two Health Professions Advisors at GW:

- Sarah Krauss (advises students whose last names begin with the letters L-Z)
