Senior Year Checklist!

For a lot of you, this is the start of your last year as undergrads!  Make sure to start the year off right!  We’ve put together a little guide for you below to help make sure you’ve got your bases covered.  It’s a good idea for you to make an appointment with Liz or Catherine to make sure you’ll be graduating when you think you are!

Capstone
You must take HONR 4199, Honors Capstone, in fall 2012 or spring 2013. You can take either the 1- or 3-credit option.  Please note that we’ve added a new section for fall 2012 with Professor Boylan on Thursdays from 4-6pm.
Honors Senior Thesis
If you’re taking HONR 4198, Honors Senior Thesis, you must complete the Honors Contract (pdf) and return it to the UHP office along with an RTF-EZ (pdf) and all other supporting materials no later than Friday, September 14th, 2012.  You do not need to submit the Honors Contract if you are pursuing special honors in your degree.
Special Honors in Your Degree
If you are pursuing special honors in your degree, you must submit the Special Honors Verification form (pdf) to theUHP office no later than Friday, October 12th, 2012.  This form requires your program advisor’s signature, so do this sooner rather than later.  You do not need to submit the Special Honors Verification form if you are taking HONR 4198.  Submitting this form will also make your departmental honors show up in the Honors section of DegreeMap.
Honors “Intent to Graduate” Form
If you plan to graduate this semester: Complete the Honors Intent to Graduate form no later than Friday, October 12th, 2012.  It’s online; you can do it right now in less than 5 minutes’ time.  Please note, this is the form required by Honors to let us know you’re graduating; your schools’ forms are entirely separate.
If you plan to graduate NEXT semester: You can put off the Intent to Graduate form until next semester (but why would you?).  If you’re a junior planning to graduate this year, please fill out the form now so we don’t miss you!
