Welcome to the Hao Lab at GW!

  • Our research area

Our scientific mission is to develop and apply mass spectrometry (MS)-based bioanalytical technologies to advance human health.

We strive to promote a collaborative, inclusive, productive, rigorous, and joyful lab culture.

Research Goals:

1. We develop novel and improved mass spectrometry-based analytical chemistry methods to study proteins, peptides, metabolites, and lipids in human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) and iPSC-derived neurons.
2. We implement multidisciplinary approaches (proteomics, metabolomics, lipidomics, bioinformatics, cell biology, neuroscience, etc.) through collaborative efforts in iPSC-derived neurons, mouse models, and clinical human subjects to study the lysosomal and mitochondrial dysfunctions of brain diseases.
