Remembering Biafra: History, Memory and the Global Response to the Nigeria-Biafra War

On March 9, 2020, George Washington University’s Institute for African Studies is poised to launch a web resource for students, teachers, and scholars that provides background information and a broad range of primary documents for teaching about the international response to the Nigeria-Biafra war of 1967-70. We will have a reception and a panel discussion on the global impact of the war and ways to engage the conflict as part of teaching international affairs, conflict resolution, and the history of the US in the World.
