May 4, 1968 – Photographs by French photojournalist Gilles Caron appear in Paris Match publication

Photograph: a young Biafran carrying weapons. The photographs used in the May publication of Paris Match were taken during Caron’s trip to Biafra in April 1968, when he focused primarily on documenting Biafran soldiers. Caron made three trips to Biafra during the war.
