I am the Director of the William Lowell Putnam Mathematical Competition. The 2017 competition, the 78th Putnam Competition but my first as director, takes place on December 2.
College students register for the Putnam via a faculty member at their home institution who serves as local supervisor for the competition. Faculty members register themselves and the participants at their institution by visiting maa.org/putnam after September 1, 2017 and following instructions there. The deadline for local supervisors to register is October 15, 2017. The deadline for the registration of participants from the institution is October 20, 2017.
