As summer swiftly came and went, Facilities Central took a moment to celebrate and express gratitude for the contributions of our student workers. To honor their dedication and hard work throughout the summer, Facilities Central hosted their annual summer cookout. This event was a token of appreciation for the extra effort and support the students provided whenever and wherever it was needed. A heartfelt thank you to all our student workers for making this summer a success!

To wrap up July on a high note, members of CLRE and FPCM gathered for a mixer that proved to be both enjoyable and enriching. Despite the close collaboration between the two departments, much of their communication typically takes place through emails or phone calls, leaving little room for personal interaction. This event changed that dynamic completely. The evening featured delicious food, engaging conversation, and a variety of fun activities including human bingo and a spirited spaghetti-and-marshmallows challenge. It was a great opportunity for everyone to connect on a more personal level and foster stronger relationships within the departments.
See the pictures below.
A special thank you to Jenni Williams for handling the food, Debra with Events and Venues for providing the space and Kyle, KC, and Rose for organizing the event.
On July 17th, HR hosted an Ice cream social in honor of National Ice Cream Month! A time was had!

DSF had the opportunity to meet colleagues from across GW at two All Hands Meetings held by EVP, CFO & Treasure Bruno Fernandes and attended by President Granberg on February 28. DSF ultimately reports up to Bruno through Interim DSF Vice President Baxter Goodly.
Staff members were encouraged to mingle and eat delicious catered food from Chartwells before and after comments from Bruno. Prizes-a-plenty were also given away to lucky GW employees, including several from DSF.
Take a look at pictures or download the slideshow from the event to see if you were mentioned in the long list of kudos.
Last week faculty and staff got together at USC to enjoy the GW Winter Celebration. A great time was had as employees mingled over good food, listened to live music, and even got their likenesses captured by one of the several caricature artists. Night Staff enjoyed a more intimate celebration, leaving with portraits, photobooth pictures, and prizes. Thanks for wrapping up the year with us in style!
GW’s annual Midnight Breakfast organized by our pals in the Division of Student Affairs went down this week on Monday night, much to the delight of our students. DSF staff volunteered to help students take their minds off finals (if only for a few hours) to focus on fun and good food. Over 2,200 students attended the deep sea themed party this year. Check out the picture evidence below!
We’ve previously covered Career Milestones in 2023 and now we’ve got pictures of some of the folks who attended celebrations in their honor!
