ACA Reps – Julius Caesar and The Cherry Orchard
The ACA Summer Reps are the annual thesis performances for the M.F.A. students of the Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Academy for Classical Acting at George Washington University. Students spend the final semester earning their master’s degree by putting their skills into practice in a professional rehearsal process and performance of two classical plays. Following a year of mostly online instruction, Emily and her classmates are beyond eager to get back into an in-person learning and rehearsal setting.
Emily Erickson will perform as Brutus in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar and in the ensemble of Anton Chekhov’s The Cherry Orchard. She and her classmates will work and develop these productions under the direction of Craig Wallace and Aaron Posner, respectively. Rehearsals begin May 10 with performances running July 5–17 at a soon-to-be-announced outdoor theater space in the D.C. area.
Throughout the summer, Emily will be keeping a rehearsal journal and posting updates from the rehearsal room to her personal Instagram and website: @emierickson and www.emilynerickson.com.
