Being a Cross-Disciplinary Team Scientist: Being Prepared, Knowing Your Resources, and Using Available Tools

collaboration2

Many budding and even veteran team scientists are unaware of the emerging field of Team Science and evidence-based knowledge and tested practices about working within and improving an effective team. Useful resources are available but can sometimes be hard to access within and outside of GW because of the interdisciplinary nature of the field. This ‘think tank’ will explore the available virtual, print, and conceptual tools that team scientists should have access to in their efforts to conduct cross-disciplinary and collaborative science.

AIMS:

  • To explore and understand what being a cross-disciplinary scientist means and entails.
  • To develop a framework for conceptual skills and strategies for being a cross-disciplinary scientist.
