Crucial Input Needed - Please Volunteer
As you are all aware, there is an ongoing effort to improve the research ecosystem at GW. Volunteers are now being sought for the second phase of this faculty-driven process. I would urge you to reach out to us at email@example.com to volunteer for, or suggest someone for, one of the following committees:
1) Workforce Development
2) Operation and Utilization of Shared Facilities
3) Resource Allocation
4) Big Data and High Performance Computing Infrastructure
As the largest school at GW, it is vital that we have input in all of these areas, but, to date, we only have very few CCAS faculty volunteers. Please reach out to us by Friday August 30th. We really appreciate your willingness to serve in this crucial capacity.
I wish you all a productive and smooth beginning to the semester!
RCR Workshop: Navigating iRIS – Human Subjects Research
Marvin Center, Room 311
August 29, 2019 -- 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
The Office of Human Research will lead a session on conducting human subjects research at GW, what requires IRB review, and discuss information and tips while navigating the Integrated Research Information Software (iRIS) for human subjects. Come prepared with your questions!
Anyone engaging in research or scholarly activity at GW including, under- and graduate students, administrative staff, researchers, postdocs and faculty, is encouraged to attend.
The GW Postdoc Association (GWPA) will host a career panel with speakers that can advise GW postdocs on both industry and academic careers, a workshop that will teach how to perfect a short “elevator pitch” about research, and a round of poster presentations by GW postdocs.
Submissions for poster presentations are welcome; prizes will be awarded for the top three posters.
Please nominate outstanding mentors that are shaping careers of postdocs for the GWPA Mentorship Award. GWPA wants to recognize these deserving colleagues.

OVPR and the Division of Information Technology (DIT) announced enhancements to Principal Investigator (PI) Dashboard that will be released on September 1, 2019.
PI Dashboard is a web-based analytics tool that gives PIs quick access to the information necessary to make informed, data driven decisions about the financial aspects of their sponsored projects. PI Dashboard will have a new look and new options for drilling down into transaction details and aims to improve and streamline research administration systems and processes. Access or learn more about the tool by visiting the Office of Sponsored Projects website.
