CCAS Research Updates: March 9, 2018

Enhancement for the Enhanced Travel Program
In our effort to provide strong support for our scholarly related travel needs, we are pleased to increase our investment for the CCAS Enhanced Faculty Travel Awards program. Starting this year, CCAS faculty can request up to $2500 in applying for this award. The total number of awards will remain to be 30. The detailed description, reflecting this increased funding level, can be found online at our Research Blog. Please also keep in mind that the deadline for this year's competition is March 30, 2018.

As you know, we are constantly seeking ways to provide the best support for the scholarly activities of our faculty. We are pleased this has led to encouraging returns, and we look forward to the continued success of your academic endeavors.

Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI)
Neurodegeneration Challenge Network The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative invites applications to join the CZI Neurodegeneration Challenge Network, an interdisciplinary collaborative initiative to increase understanding of the fundamental biology of neurodegenerative disorders. Applications are being accepted for two funding mechanisms:
-CZI Ben Barres Early Career Acceleration Awards: investigator awards for early career academic investigators, especially those who are new to the field of neurodegeneration. Applications due by 5 pm PT, April 17, 2018.
-CZI Collaborative Science Awards: awards for small group interdisciplinary collaborations that include a physician with active clinical engagement. Letters of Intent due by 5 pm PT, April 3.
