GW Neuroscience Majors Kick-off Event!

You are invited to join us for the official launch of two new majors in Neuroscience at George Washington University. The event will be held on March 4th, 2019 from 6-8pm in the Science and Engineering Hall B1 Level Atrium. There will be food and refreshments served and remarks made by several administrators, faculty, and students involved in neuroscience at GWU and the DC area.

For current and prospective majors, this is an opportunity to see the breadth of neuroscience research happening at GWU and other DC area institutions and to meet the faculty who direct that research and teach the courses in the major.  Representatives from outside organizations, such as the NIH, will also be on hand to talk about research opportunities in the area for both undergraduates and those who are/have matriculated. If you do plan to attend please fill out the RSVP form below. An RSVP is not required to attend but helps in organizing and planning.

For faculty, the event affords an opportunity to meet your colleagues and their trainees and to meet a population of undergraduates that may have an interest in gaining research experience in your labs. Improving undergraduate research is a focus for the university and there are a number of resources available to support it, which administrators will be on hand to discuss. There will also be a poster session at the event and we encourage you to represent your lab at this event by having someone present a poster; the poster presentations will be a great way to showcase your research to undergraduates at GWU that are very keen to learn about and get involved with your research. Please RSVP if you plan to attend and let us know if you would like to present a poster from your lab - this can be done by completing the Google Form here:

Attached please find the flyer for the event and feel free to post this flyer or forward this email on to whomever you feel is appropriate.

We look forward to celebrating the launch of these majors with you and showcasing amazing neuroscience research.

Best,
