The Committee, in conference with the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Studies, convenes to offer guidance and enact direction for undergraduate curriculum matters and make decisions thereof. Amongst the areas the Committee is charged with overseeing are reviews and approvals of major and minor proposals, Special Interdisciplinary Majors (SIM) and Luther Rice fellowships.

In 2020 the CCAS Undergraduate Studies Committee and the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Studies created virtual faculty workshops on pedagogy and teaching. These interactive workshops and webinars were complementary to the workshops and boot camps organized by the GW Libraries. Workshop themes were based on input from CCAS faculty as well as participating committee and subcommittee members.
