Knots in Washington’s Official Website

The schedule for Knots in Washington 49.984375 has been finalized.

History

Every semester, a group of GW topologists and their friends organize an international conference on Knot Theory and its Ramifications in or near Washington, DC. This tradition was started in the fall of 1995 by Jozef H. Przytycki and Yongwu Rong on the heels of a very successful first Knots in Poland conference organized in Warsaw by Joanna Kania-Bartoszynska, Jozef H. Przytycki, and Pawel Traczyk. For the historical webpage with links to the previous Knots in Washington conferences please visit https://home.gwu.edu/~przytyck/knots/

The conference registry is open Conference Registry for KIW 49.9375.

A Word on the Naming

Post-Covid, participation in the Knots in Washington Conference has been “by choice or chance” in the absence of external funding. We hope that we will soon be able to secure funding for KiW to support an even greater pool of esteemed mathematicians and, in doing so, will finally converge to conference number 50.
