The Pediatric Infection Connection has as its overall goal to provide timely information to pediatricians and other child healthcare providers about trends and new developments in pediatric infections. It is tied specifically to the Montgomery County Pediatric Society, where I provide updates on infectious diseases at all quarterly Society meetings. It became apparent that many interesting questions were raised by Society members at these meetings, with no convenient method to follow up on those questions with the members. Also, because of the fast-changing nature of infectious diseases, a quarterly update sometimes isn't timely enough to be useful in pediatric practice.
Some of you may recognize the name Pediatric Infection Connection. I originally ran this blog from the Children's National Health System web site, from 2011 - 2013, but discontinued it due to relatively small readership. I'm hoping, with the 5-year hiatus, that many more clinicians will find this site useful.
