  1. Ecological Research opportunities for undergraduate students (2024)

We are seeking GWU undergraduate science majors to participate in a literature-based project testing the tenets of the Invasional Meltdown Hypothesis, such as, how frequently do invasive species facilitate other nonnatives, excluding native species? This research would involve reading papers in invasion biology and scoring them for a quantitative analysis of some aspect of the IMH, as part of a meta-analysis of this ecological phenomenon. The skills learned would be research review and statistical analyses. Students could participate in this project for research credit (BISC 4171) with opportunities for developing a related senior honors thesis project. Interested students should submit a CV/resume and letter of interest to Dr. von Holle (betsy.vonholle@gwu.edu).
