Programs and Services

The Asperger/Autism Network offers free programming such as community connection, workshops, support groups, and a discussion forum. They also offer grants and recreational scholarships. Additionally, they provide information on supports available for adults and teens. They also have LifeMAP, which is a coaching program to help autistic individuals with their personal goals. LifeMAP is a fee-based service, and coaches are available virtually and in-person.

Another organization that provides community-based services is Easterseals, who have a variety of local programs available for adults such as youth and transition, in-home, and recreation services.

Other services that may be of interest are life coaching and mentorship programs. Best Buddies is a national and international nonprofit organization that connects people who have disabilities and/or are neurodivergent with their peers, aiming to reduce social isolation and increase independence. NeuroGuides is another organization that matches individuals with their peers. This program offers life coaching for autistic/neurodivergent individuals by autistic/neurodivergent individuals.

Professional development is another area that programs may target. The College Internship Program is a private program for young adults diagnosed with autism, ADHD, or other differences aiming to help with the transition to adulthood. Project SEARCH provides location-based programs to eligible young adults focusing on transitioning to work and obtaining employment.
