George Washington University (GW) will host a four-week data science bootcamp as part of the Public Interest Technology University Network (PIT-UN) 2024 Network Challenge. This initiative aims to empower students with essential data science skills while addressing critical issues of health equity and climate resilience. PIT-UN, a collaboration of 63 diverse academic institutions, fosters equitable technology innovation across academia, government, and civil society. This year, the 2024 Network Challenge selected 10 projects, including GW's bootcamp, which will serve as a model for advancing public interest technology.
GW’s bootcamp will collaborate with Trinity Washington University and the University of the District of Columbia. The project will be led by GW faculty members Dr. Tatiyana Apanasovich (lead PI), Dr. Huixia (Judy) Wang (PI), and Dr. Fang Jin. Key contributors from partner institutions include Dr. Kerry Luse and Dr. Kaitlin Wellens from Trinity Washington University, and Dr. Dong Hyun Jeong from the University of the District of Columbia.
