The Paterson Review of International Affairs is a scholarly journal exclusively showcasing the work of graduate students in the field of international affairs. Managed by students from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, the Paterson Review is dedicated to publishing articles on a wide range of emerging issues in the theory and practice of international affairs. For the 19th volume of the Paterson Review, we welcome submissions on a variety of policy-relevant topics including but not limited to:

National and international security
Conflict analysis and resolution
International economics
International development
Global governance
Global Health
Intelligence
Environment

Papers submitted should concern contemporary policy issues and include specific policy recommendations. All submissions will be evaluated for originality, policy relevance, rigor, and depth. Six (6) submissions will be selected for publication.

Paper Guidelines

  •  No more than 6000 words, including endnotes and bibliography
  •  Use an endnote citation style
  • Include a 100- to 200-word abstract and 5-6 keywords
  • A cover page featuring author information
  • Not under consideration for publication in another journal

Since 2007, the Paterson Review has been published both in print and online formats. The journal has been serialized in order to be indexable by libraries. This is an excellent opportunity for MA and PhD students from across North America to get their work published in a peer- and expert-reviewed journal.
