If you’re ready to chase your dream, then start your application for the 2019 GW NVC and get support from our incredible mentors and staff. Submissions are due by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
But there’s no need to wait until then, the submission process is easy. And just by submitting your application you will get amazing feedback on your idea, a chance to win cash and prizes, and take part in an "only at GW" experience.

Two step application process:
  1. Submit a description of the venture (includes a 50-word overview, problem statement, your solution, revenue/funding model, innovative/creative section, and who’s on your team)
  2. Submit a 2-minute video presentation
Even if you’re new to this process you should apply. Our team is here to help you with your application and entrepreneurial journey. The GW NVC was created to give GW students, faculty, and alumni a real-world, experiential learning opportunity in entrepreneurship. It was designed to allow competition winners to actually launch and operate their ventures, while maintaining complete control of their companies through the issuance of non-dilutive cash grants as prize money.

Have you completed the Foreign Language Proficiency Requirement already?
If not, make sure to consider IAFF 6504. These one-credit skills courses are a great way to improve your foreign language skills, while also satisfy the language requirement. 
The following IAFF 6504 courses are being offered during the Spring 2019 semester:
  • IAFF 6504 Int Proficiency - Russian (CRN: 47970)
  • IAFF 6504 Int Proficiency - Chinese (CRN: 44441)
  • IAFF 6504 Int Proficiency - French (CRN: 42732)
  • IAFF 6504 Int Proficiency - Spanish (CRN: 45652) 

Interested students should first take the online self-administered diagnostic exam and then send a screenshot, along with a Registration Transaction Form, to their academic advisor.

The Asian Journal of Public Affairs (AJPA) invites academics and PhD students to submit:

  • manuscripts of original research articles (6,000-7,000 words excluding abstract and bibliography)
  • book reviews
  • commentary (1,500 words maximum)
  • policy analysis/field reports for ongoing research (5,000 words maximum).

Contributions to the journal are accepted on a rolling basis. Citations must follow the Chicago Manual of Style. Contact the editorial board for further details.

The Asian Journal of Public Affairs (AJPA) is the flagship journal of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP). It is a peer-reviewed publication featuring articles by scholars and practitioners on public affairs issues in the Greater Asia including the Middle East, Central and South Asia, and the Asia-Pacific region. 

Published on a bi-annual basis, AJPA seeks to influence public policy-making in Asia through interdisciplinary policy-relevant research. Print circulation is targeted not only to academic audiences but also to civil society and government organizations. The scope of Public Affairs includes, but is not limited to, Public Policy (including sectoral policies), Public Administration and Management, International Security, International Political Economy, Social and Political Sciences and Economics. Each issue features scholarly and practitioner-based research articles, field reports, commentaries, and book reviews. Articles may be quantitative and/or qualitative, national or cross-national. Preference is given to contributions which have accessible and clearly articulated policy implications.

STAIR is currently accepting abstract submissions for its May 2019 issue addressing the theme ‘Whose Security is Cybersecurity? Authority, Responsibility, and Power in Cyberspace. We encourage submissions which aim to push beyond the current scope of cybersecurity literature, and address issues related to cyber governance, proliferation of cyber capabilities, implications of AI to cyber security, and other topics outlined in the attached Call for Abstracts.

Abstracts of up to 500 words should be submitted by November 23, 2018 on the STAIR website.
