The Department of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences is once again offering its Lifestyle, Sport and Physical Activity (LSPA) courses to Graduate Students and we invite you to participate!
Graduate, VALOR, and Consortium Students, GWU Faculty and Staff, and Foggy Bottom Residents will pay only $150 to participate in select LSPA courses for the entire semester!
This is a considerable discount, and our courses include everything from Pilates to Zumba to Basketball to Cross-training. Choose from 81 eligible* courses. Registration is now open and ends Wednesday, January 31. You may start attending classes once your payment is processed and applicable forms have been submitted to the instructor.

The GW New Venture Competition provides a unique opportunity for GW students, faculty, staff and alumni to put entrepreneurship principles into practice with an experiential learning experience and competition. The competition offers three tracks—New Ventures, Technology Ventures, and Social Ventures—where innovators and entrepreneurs can test ideas for new businesses, technologies and social innovations.
SUBMISSION INSTRUCTIONS
To submit your application, first review the eligibility rules, key dates, and submission requirement links listed above. If you are eligible to compete, register using the link above. For Round 1 applications, three items are required:
  1. Form fill description of the venture
  2. A concise (50-words or less) description of the venture
  3. A 2-minute video presentation

The Tobin Project is now accepting applications for our 2018 Graduate Student Fellowship and Workshops from doctoral and professional students conducting research on real-world problems related to the Tobin Project’s National Security and Institutions of Democracy research initiatives. These workshops support students with small research grants and a collaborative two-day discussion in which students can share and develop their research-in-progress with the Tobin Project staff and other fellowship recipients. We welcome applications from students across all social science disciplines and allied fields.

Our National Security workshop will take place on April 25-27 and feature research related to the practices and processes that lead to effective strategic threat assessment. Our Institutions of Democracy workshop will be held on May 30-June 1and focus on research exploring how American democracy has functioned and evolved over time.

The deadline to apply is January 31, 2018, and applications should be submitted to research@tobinproject.org. We would be grateful if you would consider passing this opportunity along to graduate students in your network who you think might be interested. Spring 2018 applications for Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF) Travel Grants will be accepted starting Tuesday, January 16, 2018.
The KACIF Travel Grants are available to GW students who are participating in internships that will advance their career development and who need assistance in paying for their public transportation to and from their internship location.
This reimbursement, which cannot exceed $300.00, can be used only for necessarily unpaid internships, i.e., typically those internships with non-profit, governmental, educational, and non-governmental organizations that genuinely lack the financial resources to pay salaries or wages to their interns.
Applications will be accepted through myGW portal.
