The GW UNESCO Fellows is a unique fellowship program, supported by the UNESCO Chair in International Education for Development, which is housed in GSEHD's International Education Program. The Fellowship supports current graduate students per year who participate in a 3-month internships at a UNESCO field office, gaining valuable experience in international development and non-profit management.

This year, they have opened spots specifically for Elliott School students for placement at UNESCO Dakar in Dakar, Senegal.

Professional French language skills are required.

SEAS Innovation Challenge

The SEAS Innovation Challenge fosters innovative thinking in a multidisciplinary team environment as students use technology to help meet an existing challenge.

In the 2017-2018 Challenge, students will use technology to develop and demonstrate the most innovative solution to identified current needs in Puerto Rico caused by Hurricane Maria. Elliott School Students may compete in the Challenge as members of a team with at least one SEAS student.

Application deadline and entry form: Each individual/team must submit their application electronically to Monica Kavathekar by the NEW DEADLINE 5:00 pm on Friday, December 1, 2017.  The SEAS Innovation Challenge entry form is available for download on the SEAS website.

GW Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund
Spring 2018 Applications Accepted November 1 - 15, 2017

Students who will be interning in unpaid internships in the spring of 2018 are encouraged to apply to the Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF) program.

KACIF supports GW students in pursuing high-quality, necessarily unpaid internships that foster their career exploration and enhance their academic program, while reducing the financial challenges associated with necessarily-unpaid internships. Facilitated by the university's Career Services Council and funded through the generous support of alumni, parents and members of the Board of Trustees, KACIF provides grants ranging up to $3,000 to GW undergraduate and graduate students pursuing internships that are necessarily unpaid.

Applications accepted November 1 through November 15, 2017. Interested students can go to theKACIF website to review more information, including eligibility requirements and application instructions.
