Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Informational Session

Virginia Sea Grant will host an information session for interested students highlighting the Sea Grant Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship in Washington, DC on October 24. The session will cover the application process, some important considerations, and answer commonly asked questions.

Course registration is now available for Georgetown University’s Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Terrorism and Counterterrorism. The course is a FREE self-paced course that runs from October 16th to March 24th and examines the nuances involved in defining terrorism, the nature of Al Qaeda, the Islamic State, and other important groups, the effectiveness of different counterterrorism tools, terrorist recruiting, counterterrorism and the rule of law, the political context in the Middle East, and the terrorist use of technology. The course features lectures from experts in the field including Dr. Daniel Byman, Dr. Bruce Hoffman, and Dr. Christine Fair, Dr. Paul Pillar and more!

Students may enroll in the full version of the course or the introductory version. Students can receive an instructor-signed verified certificate for completion of the course for a fee of $49. Students who do not pursue the verified certificate option can complete the course for free.  Classes are self-placed, which allows students greater flexibility to complete coursework when their schedule allows it.
