Research Days: A Showcase of Research, Scholarship, and Creative Endeavor
April 4 and April 5, 2017
Call for Abstracts
Undergraduate, graduate and postdoctoral students are invited to showcase their work and compete for prize money at the 22nd annual Research Days. This event features poster presentations and keynote speakers and is dedicated to highlighting the breadth of research, creative scholarship and cultural discovery being done at GW by students and postdoctoral researchers. Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend this showcase!
All abstracts must be submitted by February 28, 2017 and are required to have mentor or advisor approval.
- April 4th focuses on arts, business, education, engineering, humanities, law, sciences and other topics.
- Participants are required to present a poster or equivalent.
- All undergraduates wishing to compete for prizes should present on this date.
- In addition to the primary abstract categories, participants can opt into five specialized categories (community-based participatory research; diversity and inclusion; innovation and entrepreneurship; gender equality; and sustainable development) to compete for additional recognition and prizes.
- April 5th focuses on health and medicine topics with participants from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, the Milken Institute School of Public Health, the School of Nursing and the Biomedical Engineering program.
- Medical residents, Institute for Biomedical Sciences students and researchers from Children's National Medical Center and the DC VA Hospital are invited to present their research on this day.
- Participants not selected for oral presentation will be required to present a poster.
- In addition to the primary abstract categories, participants can opt into specialized categories (innovation and entrepreneurship; and gender equality) to compete for additional recognition and prizes.
