The Lafayette Debates will draw students from 30 US, Canadian and French universities to GWU to DC to debate this year's topic (whether democracies should respond to the threat of terrorist attack by increasing domestic surveillance). As part of this program, one GWU student is receiving a fellowship at the French Embassy and two GWU students are receiving fully funded trips to Paris.
