Apply to be a Graduate Student Ambassador

Applications for 2014-2015 GSAs  Due March 17, 2014

Apply to be a 2014-2015 Elliott School Graduate Student Ambassador (GSA).  The GSA program is designed to give current Elliott School graduate students the opportunity to share their experiences with incoming students and collaborate on program and event planning to support the academic mission and enhance the sense of community within the Elliott School.

All graduate students who will have completed at least one semester of coursework by the start of Summer 2014 are encouraged to apply for the GSA program. Depending on interest and program size, GSAs will be selected to represent the wide range of graduate programs within the Elliott School. The goal is to have a group of GSAs which is representative of the diversity of academic programs, levels of professional experience, and global perspectives present at the Elliott School.

GSA Responsibilities
GSAs will assist the Office of Academic Advising and Student Services during New Student Orientation each semester and provide the student perspective through panel discussions and serving as orientation leaders. In addition to participating in orientation activities, GSAs will be asked to help with other Elliott School events such as Prospective Student Open House and the Elliott School Celebration. GSAs will meet as a group at least once a semester for training and planning purposes. (Dates and times to be determined.)

GSAs will plan at least one event or activity per semester. Past GSA events have included:

There are incentives for being a GSA:

  • GSAs will have their participation in the program noted on their official transcript.
  • GSAs will receive Elliott School shirts and other special tokens.
  • GSAs will be treated to an end-of-the-year dinner with special guest(s).
