During the 2002-2003 academic year Svitlana Shandruk was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her stay in the USA was supported by the Junior Faculty Development Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Her mentor at GW was Professor Donald Weasenforth.

Svitlana Shandruk is a professor in the English Philology Department at Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University in Kirovohrad, Ukraine. She teaches courses in EFL Teacher Training. Her research interests include: International education, cross-cultural communication, diplomatic etiquette, information systems in international education management, and studying different world wide teaching technologies in EFL/ESOL.

Svitlana Shandruk received a Kandidat Nauk Degree (approximate degree equivalency is between Masters Degree and PH.D.) from Luhansk State Pedagogical University, Ukraine. At Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University she is a member of University Pedagogical Methodology Council, a member of Foreign Languages Department Council, a Senior Specialist in Teaching Methods (English as the Second Profession). Professor Shandruk has 15 publications in Theory and Methods of Upbringing.

Svitlana Shandruk is married and has a daughter.
