| During the fall of 2000, Saule Ussembayeva was a visiting research professor at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her stay in the USA was supported by the Regional Scholars Program, which is funded by the U.S.Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and is administered by the Council for International Education. Her mentor at GW was Professor Gilbert Combe.
