During the 2006/07 academic year, Linda Ihsani was a visiting scholar at The George Washington University, affiliated with the Research Program in Social and Organizational Learning. Her visit to USA was supported by the East Central European Scholarship Program, which is funded by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Her advisor at GWU was Professor Stuart Umpleby, Department of Management.

Linda Ihsani currently works as adviser to the Speaker of the Parliament, Tirana, Albania. She is responsible for administrative reform and management issues.

Linda has been appointed to monitor and coordinate management issues both internally and externally. These include the management of the Speaker’s activities with other institutions, government agencies and national and international organizations, as well as the supervision of internal structures such as the Parliament Archive, Library and Publishing Department. She is part of the team charged to review work standards and introduce new forms of management so as to improve the efficiency of the Parliament and continually enhance its image.

Linda is also in charge of overseeing the Press and Information Office and shares a general concern that the new instruments should be established to help make the Albanian Parliament transparent to the public.

Linda came to work in the Parliament after long service in government departments that cover media related issues. She has devoted time and effort to several projects designed to enhance the transparency of government institutions for the public.

The courses and events Linda was able to participate in at The George Washington University have up-dated her professional knowledge. Her study visits to a number of institutions and specially the experience she gained during her internship at the House of Representatives, the office of Congressman Pete Visclosky, have broadened her horizon and vision.
