Igor Dubina is an Associate Professor of Economic Information Systems and a Post-Doctoral Scholar at the Department of Theoretical Cybernetics and Applied Mathematics, Altai State University, Russia. He was a Junior Faculty Development Program (JFDP) visiting reseacher scholar studying at the Department of Management Science of The George Washington University in 2004-2005. His stay was supported by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.

Dr. Dubina was a Fulbright Scholar at The George Washington University (GWU) School of Business, Washington, DC, for the period of November 2010 – April 2011. His faculty adviser was Professor Elias Carayannis.

His educational background is in the fields of economics and mathematical simulation of socioeconomic processes, and his PhD is in social sciences (“Creativity as a Phenomenon of Social Communications”). His research interests are concentrated in interdisciplinary approaches to creativity and innovation studies, mathematical and computer simulation of innovation, survey design and statistical methods for empirical social and economic research.

Dr. Dubina has published seven books on creative decision-making and mathematical methods for social and economic research, including “Creativity Management in an Innovation Economy” (Moscow, 2009), “Statistical Methods for Social and Economic Research” (Moscow, 2010), “Game Theory Fundamentals” (Moscow, 2010), “Creative Problem Solving in Business and Management” (Barnaul, 2007) and over 70 papers in Russian and English. During 2004-2005, he worked in the Department of Management Science at GWU as a Research Visiting Scholar of the Creativity and Innovation Management Research Program and in the International Center for Studies in Creativity (Buffalo, NY) as a Visiting Research Scholar (May – July, 2005). During the fall semester of 2009, he was a Visiting Research Fellow at the Central European University (Budapest, Hungary). He has presented conference papers in over 20 countries and taught guest lectures in George Washington University, Buffalo State College, Texas A&M University (USA), The Central European University (Hungary), The Japan Institute of Applied Technologies and Kindai University (Japan).

He is an Associate Editor of the Springer Encyclopedia of Creativity, Invention, Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
