About CESUN

The Council of Engineering Systems Universities (CESUN) was established in 2004 by universities offering educational and research programs in engineering systems. CESUN membership includes more than 50 universities to work together developing engineering systems as a new field of study. An overall objective of the Council is to broaden engineering education and practice.

The Primary Activities of CESUN:

  • Discuss critical issues affecting the development of engineering systems
  • Undertake joint projects of mutual interest
  • Share educational material
  • Provide a clearing house to match PhD students with faculty opportunities
  • Organize meetings, symposia and conferences
  • Work with related professionals societies and professional journals

Engineering Management & Systems Engineering at GW

The EMSE department embodies an integrated program of research, teaching, and public service in the disciplines of technology management and engineering systems modeling and development, and in the enhancement of solution methods for such models. Professional engineering managers must understand both the technologies being developed and the rapidly changing marketplace in which these technologies will be applied. Engineering management and systems engineering is an interdisciplinary, problem-solving field. The department develops innovative educational and research programs that cross disciplinary and departmental boundaries.
