I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at George Washington University.  My research focuses on the political economy of international trade, labor politics, and the socioeconomic determinants of public health.  I received my PhD from the University of Chicago, MSc from the London School of Economics, and BA from the University of Pennsylvania.

I have written two books on international trade and labor politics: From Conflict to Coalition (2016) and Opening Up By Cracking Down (2022), both of which were published by Cambridge University Press.  My research has been supported by the Washington Center for Equitable Growth and WorkRise, a research-to-action network based at the Urban Institute.
